HI! fashion.

after seeing an ad for DailyLook on Facebook and a promo for 2 mos. free of their Elite service i decided to give it a go. seeing as i don't have time for much of anything anymore with my crazy work hours and soul sucking commute, it seemed like a great option.

the background: after filling out a profile, naming some fashionistas you admire and linking to your pinterest boards, a $20 monthly styling fee gets you clothes and accessories sized and customized to your preferences, shipped to your home, with free shipping both ways. you get 6 - 10 hand selected pieces of various price points (as specified in your profile). if you choose to keep anything from your monthly box, the $20 styling fee is applied as a credit. even if you don't choose something from the Elite box, you can use your credit during that month at the store and as an Elite subscriber shipping is free.

the experience: my first box's styling was a little off. i received things that while pretty, weren't necessarily my style. everything in this box ended up going back - but for no reason other than it just really wasn't me. part of the process is providing feedback on how your stylist is doing and commenting on the fit, color, style, etc of the clothes sent to you. this. is. CRITICAL. being as vocal as i am, i provided a comprehensive review of my stylist's picks. box 1 = 8 items, totaling $777.

box 2 winner: DailyLook Maxine knotted maxi dress $59.99

my second box was definitely a step in the right direction. i ended up keeping one casual, sleeveless maxi dress that i adore and a cognac leather baggu tote that i've used every day for work pretty religiously, but sent the rest back. there was a pair of chambray cinched ankle pants in the lot that i definitely would never ever have tried on elsewhere, but surprisingly i LOVED them (unfortunately the fit wasn't right) - but my stylist had gotten me to open my horizons and try something new and different. and isn't that the point of this? to receive those tried and true classics but to also move outside your comfort zone and try something new? i wholeheartedly think YES. box 2 = 8 items for a total of $859.

now outside my trial, i decided i wanted to see what my stylist would come up with after i provided my feedback. my third box arrived and again, things were headed the right way. there were 5 items in this box that i was kind of head over heels in love with, although i ended up keeping 2.

box 3 winner: Pacey Oatmeal Dolman shirt $49.99

box 3 winner: Quay x Shay Mitchell Jinx sunnies $59.99
box 3 came with a pair of Schutz nude leather heels that were beyond sexy, but i am among those creatures who cannot walk on 4" heels without looking like a drunk giraffe.  box 3 = 7 items for a total of $748

I just received box 4 and to my delight i loved every single item in there. a few things didn't fit ideally but there were 4 keepers in this box.

moral of the story - it's giving DailyLook Elite a try if you could use some styling help and don't have time to hit the stores. it's convenient, can be affordable and their customer service is amazing. i had accidentally created 2 accounts and when i called to get this fixed it was done in under 2 minutes. my style points (you earn them for every purchase) were combined and so were my credits. it was the easiest and least painful customer service interaction i've ever experienced.

for those of you out there riding the fence, give DL a try. i think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

-cheers
